Tama Tuvalu PTY is a soon-to-be-established private liability company created to develop, manufacture, and market premium made in Tuvalu skincare and haircare products under the Fenua Ola brand. The company is purpose-driven and committed to sustainability, community empowerment, and climate resilience.
This cosmetic skincare initiative is the first new industry in Tuvalu in at least the last 30 years.
The Fenua Ola brand was launched on 02 October 2025 in Funafuti, introducing five skincare products formulated to international standards. The brand targets ecoconscious consumers in international markets—beginning with New Zealand and Australia—while maintaining a strong and meaningful presence in Tuvalu.
The immediate priorities for Tama Tuvalu PTY include:
Market Development – with a strong focus on market entry and sales in New Zealand and Australia.
Internal Systems Development – establishing efficient and effective company operational systems.
Brand Development – expanding the Fenua Ola product range and strengthening brand identity for long-term growth and profitability.
Value Chain Development – building inclusive upstream and downstream value chains in Tuvalu to ensure community participation and shared benefits.
Tama Tuvalu PTY will be governed by a Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the company’s operations, strategic direction, and growth.
2. PURPOSE OF THE CEO POSITION
The CEO will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for Tama Tuvalu PTY, ensuring operational excellence, financial sustainability, and alignment with the company’s mission and values. The CEO will be responsible for overall company performance, market expansion, brand equity, and compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The CEO will be responsible for the following core functions:
Operations Management.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the company.
Coordinate and supervise teams to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled effectively.
Establish a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Development
Lead the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan.
Drive long-term growth strategies for the Fenua Ola brand.
Marketing and Market Expansion
Lead and accelerate market development across domestic and export markets.
Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies for entry into Australia and New Zealand.
Ensure export readiness, including compliance, logistics, and documentation.
Build distribution strategies and strategic partnerships.
Pilot and scale digital channels for sales, payments, and customer engagement.
Establishing Company Systems
Develop and implement internal systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Lead the strengthening of financial management, HR systems, procurement processes, and reporting mechanisms.
Brand Development
Lead the strategic expansion of the Fenua Ola product range.
Strengthen brand identity, storytelling, and market positioning.
Ensure product quality, innovation, and alignment with sustainability values.
Ecosystem and Value Chain Development
Strengthen upstream supply chains for Tuvaluan extra virgin coconut oil, fetau oil, and other raw materials.
Support the development of downstream complementary services such as spa treatments and wellness offerings.
Promote inclusive value chains that benefit local communities and producers.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with shareholders, government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners.
Build partnerships that enhance sustainability, community wealth creation, and market visibility.
Represent the company in national, regional, and international forums as required.
4.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Economics, or a related field.

5. REPORTING AND SUPERVISION
The CEO will report directly to the Board of Directors of Tama Tuvalu PTY.
6. CONTRACT DETAILS
Duration: Initial two year contract, with a performance review and potential renewal.
Employment: Under the Department of Agriculture, funded through the Coconut Rehabilitation Programme.
Location: Funafuti, Tuvalu, with potential travel to New Zealand, Australia, and other markets.
7. REMUNERATION
Salary: AUD 2,500 per month (subject to tax and TNPF deductions).
Housing Allowance: AUD 500 per month.
Performance Bonus: Hefty bonus (free of taxes and TNPF) based on achievement of targets at the end of the calendar year.
8. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

Fenua Ola products are distinguished by two key locally produced ingredients: extra virgin coconut oil and fetau (tamanu) oil. These are combined with carefully selected imported inputs, blending traditional Tuvaluan knowledge with modern hygiene and manufacturing practices.
2. ROLE OF THE PRODUCTION LEAD
The Production Lead will oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency. This role includes procurement and processing of coconuts and fetau nuts, oil infusion, supervision of production staff, and compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP). The Production Lead will also play a key role in training, community engagement, and showcasing Tuvalu’s innovation to visitors.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise production staff and manage daily operations of the facility.
Lead the collection, procurement, and purchase of fetau nuts and coconuts.
Oversee the processing of fetau nuts and coconuts into high-quality oils.
Manage the infusion of coconut oil with plant-based ingredients (e.g., noni).
Monitor and maintain inventory of inputs and outputs, providing early alerts for low stock.
Support bottling, packaging, and preparation of Fenua Ola products for shipment.
Ensure strict adherence to GMP and hygiene protocols across all production stages.
Conduct training sessions for staff and community members on oil processing and product quality.
Host and guide visitor tours of the facility, promoting Tuvaluan innovation and sustainability.
Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

The Production Lead will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tama Tuvalu PTY.
5. DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT
Initial one-year contract, renewable based on performance and company needs.
6. EMPLOYMENT TERMS

Remuneration: AUD $8.00 per hour.

Production Operators will play a vital role in the creation of Fenua Ola’s signature oils. They will operate machinery such as coconut graters and coconut milk presses, prepare raw materials, and maintain a clean, hygienic production environment. Their work supports Tuvalu’s growing skincare industry and contributes to a culture of excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Operators will:
Manage stock of coconuts and fetau nuts, including waste materials (e.g., coconut shells).
Participate in the collection of fetau nuts.
Prepare coconuts and fetau nuts for processing.
Grate coconuts using the electric coconut grater machines
Operate the coconut milk press to extract the coconut milk.
Assist in the production of extra virgin coconut oil and fetau oil.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
Support the setup and upkeep of the facility to meet good manufacturing and hygiene standards.
Assist with bottling, labeling, and preparation of products for export as directed.

2. ROLE OF THE RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE
The launch of Fenua Ola marked the first new industry in Tuvalu in over 30 years. The Retail Sales Associate will engage directly with the public to drive sales of Fenua Ola products. As one of the primary public faces of the brand, the Associate will play a vital role in connecting Fenua Ola with Tuvaluan culture, history, and pride, while delivering excellent customer service and representing Tuvalu’s innovation to the world.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Retail Sales Associate will be primarily based at the Funafuti International Airport outlet and will be responsible for promoting Fenua Ola products and sharing the brand’s story to drive sales.
4. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Sales and Customer Service
Set up product displays and prepare the outlet for sales.
Engage customers warmly, provide product information, and share the Fenua Ola story.
Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
Collect customer feedback and channel insights to management.
b) Stock Management
Receive, record, and safeguard Fenua Ola products.
Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies promptly.
c) Cash Handling and Reporting
Manage cash transactions securely and responsibly.
Prepare daily and weekly sales and stock reports.
d) Outlet Maintenance
Keep the retail area clean, organized, and hygienic.
Ensure products are stored safely and attractively displayed.
Provide feedback to management to enhance the customer retail experience.
e) Export Support
